ABOUT

REBECCA ISRAEL is a NY Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker committed to telling small, thoughtful stories that represent big ideas. Throughout her career, she focuses on exploring what success means in different cultures and how these perspectives appear in education around the world. Her work has been featured on HBO, PBS, Sundance Channel, Comedy Central, and NBC Universal.
Rebecca is originally from Chicago(a midwesty at heart!), currently based in Brooklyn, but spends significant time working on projects abroad. She is a co-leader of Docshop, a chapter of Filmshop, an NYC based film collective. She is also a member of IBEW Local 1212.
